Diamond Jubilee Tartan Ball

While we are still waiting for final bills and reconciliations, the 2009 Tartan Ball was a huge success.  The Silent Auction raised a little over $10,000 for the Society's Charity and Education Fund, thanks to the generous support of all of our donors.  The ball itself made a small profit for the Society as well, the final numbers will be available at the January Members' Meeting.  The co-chairs would like to thank all of the people who made it possible, from the committee to our guests.

Special thanks to DC Photographer, Joseph Allen, for his photographic coverage of this year's Tartan Ball. Joseph is a professional photographer covering prestigious events and weddings in the Washington, DC area. His images have been used by the Courage Cup Foundation, The Many Hats Foundation, The International Gold Cup, The Junior League, The National Symphony Orchestra, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Curtis Institute and more. His work can be found in both national and local publications. He has covered events for celebrities such as Laura Bush, Neil Simon, Robert Redford, Christina Applegate, Jason Alexander, and Richard Dreyfuss. We  appreciate his eye and time this year.
