Scholarship Grants Saint Andrew's Society of Washington, DC's The Saint Andrew’s Society of Washington, DC, annually grants awards from its Washington Scots Charity & Education Fund Scholarships Program. Awards are made to scholars enrolled in US or Scottish institutions for the third or fourth year of College or University or full-time graduate study. There are generally 6 to 20 awards granted totaling in excess of $20,000. The size and total number of awards varies from year to year. In honor of the 250th Anniversary of our St. Andrew’s Society’s 1760 founding, the Society has established The St. Andrew’s Society Founders’ Prize. Made possible by generous donations in the name of James & Mary Dawson and Donald Malcolm MacArthur, this Scholarship is an annual award in the amount of $7,500 made to an outstanding Scottish or Scottish-American scholar.
